Kigali,
Hi TEFL Paris,
I can’t believe it was only a few months ago that I was on the RER heading to the pre-course dinner! The TEFL has been of incredible use here as I have absolutely no idea how I could possibly have churned two lessons out each day. I’ve been at Girubuntu School (its official name is actually Kigali Infants’ School but it was decided that to make it more appealing to foreign aid the name would be changed to something more local-sounding so Girubuntu – Compassion – it is) for over a month now teaching English and French to students whose ages vary from two-year olds to fourteen-year olds. It’s quite different from the little classes of adults from the TEFL course (50 rampaging little Rwandans sharing a few desks and one pen, forget about seating) but it’s just as fun and the kids are really affectionate.
